Changes to the Practice
27th January 2021
We have positive news regarding our intention to take over the running of another local practice – Bermuda and Marlowe.
Last November we informed you that we were interested in taking on the running of this practice, and that we were in talks with NHS North Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).
We are delighted to say that the process has been successful and the practice will continue to work with North Hampshire CCG to finalise the contractual arrangements. We will assume responsibility for the population of Bermuda and Marlowe on 1st October 2021. To ensure a smooth transition, the CCG will bring in a ‘caretaker’ organisation at Bermuda and Marlowe on 1st April 2021, meaning that we can fully prepare for the change without disrupting our current services.
This offers some real opportunities for us as a practice, and you as our patients. As a larger organisation – but still run by locally-based GPs and colleagues – we believe it will be easier for us to deliver services such as social prescribing, mental health and physiotherapy at a greater scale than is currently possible.
You will see no reduction in the service you currently receive, but should benefit from our practice being able to offer a wider range of healthcare services , support and greater resilience for stability for the future.
We will keep you fully informed as the process moves forward.
